The lease is automatically renewed for a further period of 9 years*, except if notice is given at least 18 months prior to expiry of the lease.

Failure to renew the lease cannot happen except under certain circumstances.

25-year leases, known as “constant notice period leases” can benefit from automatic renewal if this is specified initially in the lease, but only for a period of one year (renewable year on year after the first 25 years and with a notice period of 4 years).
