Loans to young farmers
Who to ask for a loan?

MTS-Young Farmers loans, the reduced interest rate on which is covered by the State (with participation from the European Union), are distributed by the networks of authorised banks at national level (in 2001: Banques populaires, BNP, Crédit agricole, Crédit lyonnais, Crédit mutuel, CIC).


What can the loan be used to finance?

These loans are granted to young farmers to finance:

<< take over of farm capital – both movable and immovable

<< acquisition of the land required to run the farm and expenses incurred in renovating and adapting the farm capital taken over, up to a limit of 46,000 €,

<< working capital requirements (financing at most equal to 10% of the amount of loans taken out during the first year after installation, without exceeding 4,600 €).

What are the financial terms of the loan?

Where both spouses work in the same company, the total of loans granted may not exceed the following ceiling amounts:

How long does the loan last?

Of a maximum length of 15 years, these loans can be used within a period of 10 years after installation.
