Signature of deeds of purchase and leases
Deeds of acquisition

For signature you will need copies:

of your marriage contract if you have one

of your birth certificate (bring the originals) (check with the notary whether he needs a sworn translation of these documents)
See with the notary what is planned in case of death of one of the spouses, the system is different from the one in the United Kingdom; you can insert a “tontine division clause”.

Presence of asbestos and termites > seen and checked by Safer

If the purchase is made by a couple, you both need to be present for the signature (notaries are extremely reticent about drawing up powers of attorney for foreigners living abroad, or else check with the notary well in advance!).

On the date of signature, or several days later, remember to ask for several certificates of signature of the deed from the notary, you will need them for various formalities.

Obtain (at a later date) copies of the certificate of signature of the deed and then of the deed itself for:

The accountant (for the farm’s balance sheet)

To make an application for a cheque book and credit card

The Chambers of Agriculture (if an economic study has been carried out)

The bank

The ADASEA (linked to bonus requests)
